Company Description: We seek to turn the tide on the plastic disaster using a revolutionary path to carbon-negative chemicals. At Rise Reforming, we see plastic waste as a virtually unlimited resource, and envision a first of its kind plastic-to-dimethyl ether (DME) synthesis process. DME can be blended with propane to make a drop-in alternative fuel, used for domestic cooking/heating and transportation. DME is also an environmentally friendly propellant, used in air fresheners, hair spray, spray paint, and insecticides. We thus aim to make carbon negative DME (cnDME) at a price competitive with fossil-derived DME – all while erasing plastic waste.
